Social skills are the skills we use everyday to interact and communicate with others. They include verbal and non-verbal communication, such as speech, gesture, facial expression and body language. A person has strong social skills if they have the knowledge of how to behave in social situations and understand both written and implied rules when communicating with others.
Our unique social skills groups provide an opportunity for children to interact within a structured environment. All groups are led by certified professionals who specialize in social skills. Therapists facilitate sessions to teach critical skills from effective turn-taking to understanding others’ perspectives. Utilizing fun and shared interests, we will assist children in learning and practicing much needed social skills to navigate the social realm as well as initiate and maintain friendships.
