Who we help · Teens

A place for teens to talk about what is actually going on.

Adolescence can bring more independence at the same time that school, friendships, identity, family expectations, and emotions become more complicated. Therapy can give teens room to sort through that complexity without feeling judged or lectured.

Reasons families and teens reach out

There does not need to be a crisis before therapy can be useful. Common reasons for reaching out include:

  • Anxiety, panic, perfectionism, or feeling overwhelmed
  • Depression, irritability, withdrawal, or loss of motivation
  • School stress, executive-functioning difficulties, or academic pressure
  • Friendship, dating, family, or communication problems
  • Self-esteem, identity, boundaries, or confidence
  • Difficulty coping with transitions, conflict, or stressful experiences

How we think about the work

Teens need both privacy and support around them.

A strong therapeutic relationship gives adolescents a place to be honest, think through choices, understand patterns, and build ways of coping that feel realistic—not scripted.

Parent involvement is handled thoughtfully and depends on the teen’s age, needs, goals, and safety considerations. The aim is to respect the teen’s growing independence while helping families communicate and support progress outside sessions.
